Oracle Solaris 11 Support For Perle TruePort COM Port Re-director Utility
Perle TruePort COM Port Re-director Utility Supports Oracle Solaris 11 for True Remote Serial Ports over an Ethernet LAN.
December 11, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Perle Systems, a global provider of advanced Serial over Ethernet and secure device networking solutions, today announced Oracle Solaris 11 support for its TruePort COM Port re-director utility. TruePort driver v6.3 can be downloaded from Perle's website.
"The TruePort utility from Perle provides true remote serial ports over an Ethernet LAN. It makes remote ports appear as if they are directly connected COM or TTY ports to an application," comments Julie McDaniel, Vice President Marketing at Perle Systems. She continues, "With the addition of Oracle Solaris 11 support, TruePort offers the most comprehensive set of operating drivers for a COM port re-director utility in the industry."
Perle TruePort is installed on the application server. All COM port directed data sent by the application is re-directed by TruePort across an IP/Ethernet network to remote Perle Terminal Servers or I/O Device Servers which have targeted devices connected to them. Data and serial port signalling is transparently communicated between the application and remote device.
