One Community: A Grassroots Think Tank Convenes The Green Economy, Climate Change to Job Creation

Congresswoman Judy Chu to give keynote address at Green Economy One Day Conference at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California. Southern California Edison is slated to host a Job Fair at the event.

CONVENES "THE GREEN ECONOMY: CLIMATE CHANGE TO
JOB CREATION" A ONE DAY CONFERENCE.

The Pasadena-based organization has assembled a stellar group of the Green Economy's business owners, advocates, consultants, government officials and executives to speak at its free highly anticipated conference.


PASADENA, CA......One Community, A Grassroots Think Tank Organization, (www.onecommunitythinktank.com) will convene a one day conference, "The Green Economy: Climate Change to Job Creation" on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Pasadena City College, Lillian Vosloh Forum, located at 1570 Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA. Admission and parking are free. The conference will commence with Continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. There will be a panel discussion from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. From 12 noon to 1 p.m., lunch will be served. The event's attendees will have an opportunity to visit with exhibitors, network for jobs and interact with the panelists.

Slated to appear as panelists are Asif Ansari, CEO of Suntrough Inc.; Joumana Barakat, Management Analyst, Workforce Investment Board; John Boesel, CEO, WestStart-CALSTART; Phyllis Currie, General Manager, Pasadena Water & Power; Marilyn Johnson, Executive Director, SCOPE; John Picard, Environmental Consultant (via video only); Dr. Josh Willis, Oceanographer & Climate Scientist and Tom Soto, Managing Partner, Craton Equity Partners.

The mission of One Community, A Grassroots Think Tank, is to Educate, Disseminate and Activate people to find solutions to the issues that impact their daily lives. The organization was founded by Chris Holden, Melanie Caldwell-Holden, Ralph McKnight and Dr. Mark Lau Branson.
