"As the need for financial literacy continues to grow, we as a society are beginning to understand the important role that financial education plays in our everyday lives," said Leslie E. Linfield, Executive Director of the Institute for Financial Literacy. "We created the EIFLE Awards to recognize the dedication and outstanding work being done by financial educators across the country to improve the financial knowledge of our communities."

Presented for the first time in 2007, the EIFLE Awards were created to recognize and acknowledge innovation, education and a commitment to financial literacy education. Award categories include Book, Education Program, Instructional Game, Published Research, Educator and Organization of the Year. Since its inception, the EIFLE Awards have become one of the most prestigious and sought after honors in the field of financial literacy education.

Among the 2011 honorees were American Century Investments, Core Federal Credit Union, Moonjar LLC, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Family Mint and authors Ric Edelman, Laura Adams and Tony Steuer. For a complete list of EIFLE winners, please visit www.ACFEonline.org.
