How Berlin's Charité is managing the pandemic – experiences from radiology

Europe has been significantly impacted by COVID-19, with numerous countries reporting more than 100,000 cases and a shocking number of deaths. Germany, however, has been relatively successful in confronting this healthcare crisis. Berlin Charité, one of the largest university hospitals in Europe and Berlin’s oldest hospital, has taken innovative steps in managing the pandemic.

Our speaker, Prof. Bernd Hamm has singular insights into the strategies deployed throughout Germany to confront this pandemic. Prof. Hamm, who serves as Director of the Radiology Clinic at Charité Berlin, will share his insights on the innovative measures Charité Berlin has taken in managing the pandemic in the radiology department and beyond – including lessons learned on clinical care, increasing ICU bed capacity, and setting up so called pop-up clinics.
