MCR Labs Receives Final License From Massachusetts CCC

BOSTON, October 18, 2018 (Newswire.com) - The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission voted today in favor of issuing a final Independent Testing Laboratory license to MCR Labs in Framingham, Massachusetts. This license moves the organization into the final phase of being cleared to start testing cannabis and marijuana products under the Commonwealth's Adult Use of Marijuana Program.

Having been issued a provisional license by the CCC on Aug. 23, this final license affirms that MCR Labs is properly accredited to perform compliance testing as defined in 935 CMR 500.160 and has been inspected to meet all general operation and security requirements for marijuana establishments as outlined in the Commission's draft regulations. There is still one final walkthrough and seed-to-sale software training that must be completed before the establishment will be issued a notice to "Commence Full Operations."

With a final ITL license in place, all marijuana establishments licensed under the Adult Use Program (cultivators, product manufacturers, microbusinesses, etc.) will soon be able to have their products tested for quality control and potential contaminants at MCR Labs, located at 85 Speen St. in Framingham. Once products have been tested to show compliance, they may be marketed and sold to persons aged 21 and older by retailers who have received their final licenses from the CCC.

At their meeting this afternoon, the CCC awarded one other final license to a testing lab in Salem, Massachusetts, and they approved provisional licenses for several additional marijuana establishments.
