Lanner Presents MIL-Grade Compact Fanless Vehicle Gateway LVC-2000 with Intel® Atom™ E3845 CPU
Taiwan, November 8, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The wide-spreading trend of intelligent vehicles has triggered an urgent need for compact, shock/vibration-resistant gateway control. With specific requirements for vehicle-use systems taken into considerations, Lanner presents its military-grade, compact in-vehicle gateway controller LVC-2000, driven by onboard Intel® Atom™ Bay Trail E3845 CPU for power-efficiency. The value computing solution is designated for infotainment, fleet management and monitoring/tracking applications.
Since power consumption is one of the most discussed concerns for in-vehicle systems, LVC-2000 is built with new generation of Intel® Atom™ E3845 CPU. The new onboard Intel® Atom™ 22 nm microarchitecture SoC processor delivers enhanced performance and five times the energy efficiency of previous Intel® Atom™ generations. The implementation of the new Intel® Bay Trail processor makes LVC-2000 a value time-to-market solution ideal for vehicle computing needs.
As vehicles may travel on rough surfaces, LVC-2000 meets MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration resistance to remain normal operations constantly. By complying with military grade endurance, as well as its fanless design, LVC-2000 is able to endure environmental factors and proves itself capable of working under in-vehicle settings. In addition to its reliability, LVC-2000 is capable of operating under wide temperature range, from -20 to 60°C when equipped with SSD (Solid State Drive).
Regarding peripheral connectivity, LVC-2000 offers multiple I/O including CAN bus, LAN port, USB port and pinheader, COM ports, multiple Digital I/Os, SATA port and mini PCI Express sockets. Expansion wise, the PCI Express socket is available for connection of SIM card, while the on-panel MIO (Multiple I/O) is designed for connecting external sensor.
Other value-added features include Power Ignition Control, and GPS/Antenna connectivity. The Power Ignition Control enables users to detect and configure ignition on/off timing through software method. Meanwhile, LVC-2000 comes with built-in antenna port supporting GPS, WiFi and 3G wireless.
