Chevy Chase Dentists Create Orthodontic-Themed Jewelry To Raise Money For Charity

A team of dentists have designed a jewelry line that resembles the appearance of braces. All the proceeds from the product is set to go to non-profit organizations.

Chevy Chase dentists have recently developed a new line of jewelry design to look like braces. The team of dentists claim this will make having to wear braces more fun.

Bracket Ears are their main product. These are earrings that look like the brackets of braces and even have interchangeable colors. The rubber bands are many similarly to that of regular braces.

Dr. Casey Crafton stated that he came up with these idea with the help of his children. His son, Christopher, was partcipating in a bike ride to raise money for autism. His daughters, McKenzie and Gigi, thought that selling a unique product would be a more effective way to raise money.

The initial plan for the product was to sell only to dental practices. The dentists plan on donating the proceeds from the product to an autism charity. As of Oct. 15, they have made $40,000 from the earrings.

They plan to branch the product into stores as well. Right now the product is being sold at a single store called Look Boutique located in Olney. Eventually, they hope more stores will join in.

Because the earrings were so successfully, the dentists expanded to creating bracelets with charms that look like brackets.

Currently, Dr. Crafton is working on creating miniature versions that can be used for American Girl dolls. This idea came from his two daughters.
