SharePoint Solutions is offering a new two-day, hands-on classroom-based training course titled Introduction to SharePoint 2010 - Using SharePoint Foundation 2010, which covers the basic concepts and features of SharePoint 2010. Class will be held Jan. 25-26 in Nashville, Tenn., and Feb. 23-24 in Dallas, Texas. Cost of the course is $1,195, which includes tuition, course materials and lunches both days.

The course assumes that the student has no familiarity with this or any previous version of SharePoint. The basic features covered apply not only to SharePoint Foundation 2010 (the free version of SharePoint) but to all editions of SharePoint 2010, since the other editions are built on the foundation of the free version.

Introduction to SharePoint 2010 is intended for:
• SharePoint site owners
• Project managers
• Department managers
• Trainers
• Help-desk and end-user support professionals
• IT professionals who are interested in the out-of-the-box functionality and features
• CIOs and IT managers who are considering implementing SharePoint in their environment
• People using any edition of SharePoint 2010 in their work, whether in small organizations with just a few employees to very large organizations with thousands of employees and multiple locations

"Our introductory course is perfect for anyone who uses SharePoint 2010 in his or her job. Whether students are new to SharePoint or are self taught and want to fill in some missing pieces, this course will help them begin getting the most out of SharePoint 2010," said Ricky Spears, SharePoint Solutions' senior instructor and author of Introduction to SharePoint 2010 - Using SharePoint Foundation 2010.

Students will come away from the course with a very complete understanding of basic SharePoint 2010 concepts, navigating the SharePoint 2010 interface and the business problems that SharePoint can be used to address. They also will gain hands-on experience using SharePoint 2010 to share information and to collaborate with co-workers on projects and team work.

Each student will receive a comprehensive course manual that includes a distillation of the lecture content, the PowerPoint slides and the scripted hands-on lab exercises, which can easily be repeated back in their work environment.
