New Jersey dentist Dr. R. Craig Miller creates beautiful, healthy smiles with Invisalign®
January 30, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Millions of adults and teenagers suffer from crooked and gapped teeth. While conventional, metal dental braces have often been considered the best way of correcting crooked, overly spaced teeth, Invisalign® is now considered an effective alternative to metal dental braces.
Dr. R. Craig Miller, of The Miller Center for Esthetic Excellence in New Jersey, explains that Invisalign® can give patients the smile that they desire, without the irritation, pain, or embarrassment that metal braces can cause to patients. Invisalign® uses sets of clear, custom-made, removable aligners which progressively straighten a patient's teeth.
Dr. Miller explains that one of the biggest advantages of Invisalign® is that it is virtually detectable when it is being worn. Additionally, Invisalign® can be removed whenever a patient needs to eat, drink, or flossing.
Dr. Miller uses 3-D computer imaging technology to assist in the creation of custom-made trays for his patients. This technology also allows for gradual changes within your teeth. Each set will need to be worn for a certain amount of time, usually up to two weeks, depending on the patient's treatment plan. Periodic office visits may be required, so Dr. Miller can examine the patient's progress, and make any necessary adjustments.
According to Dr. Miller, good candidates for Invisalign® are teenagers and adults patients who have healthy teeth and gums, which are either slightly crooked or misaligned. Patients who have severely misaligned teeth are not always considered good candidates for Invisalign®. Invisalign® is not considered beneficial for dental issues, such as overbites or underbites.
