Obama Supporters anxious to remember what it was like to elect the nation's first African-American president can look to writer, radio talk show host and political activist Patricia Wilson-Smith.

A new book from critically acclaimed author and political activist Patricia Wilson-Smith, chronicles the historic 2008 election helping Obama supporters relive the excitement as we head into one of the most contentious presidential campaigns in history.

In Believing in Obama: Essays from the Historic 2008 Election and Insights for 2012
($19.99 1534 Publishing House, available on Amazon.com) Patricia Wilson-Smith takes readers back in time through a collection of essays penned during her time as an Obama campaign volunteer. The book consists of 44 essays that give a unique perspective on many of the pivotal events from the campaign; a final essay explores criticisms lobbed at the President, and the challenges that lie ahead for his re-election bid.

Wilson-Smith describes the experience of writing 'Believing in Obama', as 'finding a political voice I never knew I had'. Since 2007, that voice has landed her work in the Huffington Post, attracted the attention of Democracy Now!, Al Jazeera English, and given rise to a national organization, Black Women for Obama.

This election cycle, Black Women for Obama has established official chapters in the states of Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Florida. The organization's primary focus is GOTV efforts and combating voter suppression tactics in swing states and around the country.
