(Tampa, FL) - Jason Dowd and John Greenburg have co-authored a new book that was released April 9, 2012 titled A Haunted Soul. The book takes an intimate look at the life of International Exhibiting Photographer, Jason Dowd, starting with his childhood and it portrays his lifelong struggles with the paranormal.

These instances are the inspiration for and his art series Dreams, Nightmares, Fears and Fantasy.

His first encounter with the paranormal was in 1986, when he came face to face with the legendary "Green Lady" that haunts the Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery in his birth state of Connecticut. He was forbidden by his teachers for talking about his experience, as it conflicted with his religion. This caused Dowd to second guess his sanity and his religion, but he never gave up on either.

What he didn't realize is that he possessed a special gift: A psychic ability which allows him to see and talk to the other side. Since he was only seven years old at the time of his first paranormal encounter, he didn't understand what was going on. He didn't know that only he could see or talk to the entities that followed him. In order to stay safe, therefore, he became a recluse and missed out on a great deal while growing up. Dowd never talked about his paranormal experiences to anyone, not even his family.

The book dives deep into other paranormal encounters he's experienced throughout his life and touches on some of the psychic forewarnings that he chose not to listen to; and which altered his life forever. It also covers one of the most horrific paranormal experiences he ever had... his encounter with a demon.

A Haunted Soul also depicts his worst nightmare, which also became a recurring dream. The dream was later portrayed as part of his Dreams, Nightmares, Fears and Fantasy art series, under the title Trapped But Not Dead.

It wasn't until he was 30 years old that he learned that he had twin sister who died in utero. Since she had no grave, he never knew she existed; but once he was informed... his life would change forever.

The book contains two full series of his photographic artwork: Trapped but not Dead and Demon vs. Angel. It also has his psychic vision Death to Yesterday and a picture titled Darling Orpha. Jason had a paranormal encounter while shooting Darling Orpha.

"I want people to understand my life because this story brings to light my art series. I also want this book to help those who encounter the paranormal so that they know they are not alone. I don't want anyone to challenge their sanity or have to go through life second guessing themselves as I have done," says Dowd and he adds: "It also shows you my struggles and triumphs in life; that with determination you can be successful and find the answers you seek."
