"My Two Years At IMT-CDL Have Opened Up a Whole New World For Me", Says Avneet Kaur

"We all have a calling in life for our careers", firmly believes Avneet Kaur, Analyst with Royal Bank of Scotland and an IMT-CDL alumnus.

Course pursued: Two Year Postgraduate Diploma in Management

"We all have a calling in life for our careers", firmly believes Avneet Kaur, Analyst with Royal Bank of Scotland and an IMT-CDL alumnus. When she joined the course, she wasn't sure an online course could match up to an on-campus one but she has changed her opinion since. "Once I did go for the online mode examination, I realised that it was beneficial and it's a quicker and most convenient way of learning. The learning and opportunities IMT has given me have been my friends for life. This programme instilled in me the qualities and qualifications required to be a successful professional. Most importantly, IMT provided me with not only the confidence to dream big, but also the means to fulfill my dreams."

Avneet joined IMT-CDL based on the feedback she got on its faculty and the placement track record and she says, "The dedicated focus and attention by the faculty helps in developing a well-rounded personality; IMT-CDL gave me a platform of learning and intellect of which I reap the benefits now." Her full-time professional experience began as an Analyst with one of the big brand names in the financial services arena - KPMG. She worked with the Forensic division under Financial Advisory Services for a year and after that joined the Bank of America, working as a Senior Analyst with the Global Middle Office at the Bank. She stayed for two-and-a-half years with the Bank and then joined another Consulting Firm - Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, as a Financial Analyst with the Global Finance Team. This gave her a steep learning curve over two years and thereafter, she got an opportunity with the Royal Bank of Scotland. She loves her job and the learning it brings, along with onsite opportunities and client interaction. She believes that unless you love your job, you can't grow in it.

She has had her share of wins in her career of six years. "I played an instrumental role in transitioning the project from the US and was credited with singly managing reporting for major Consulting Service Areas at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu." She advises MBA students that success will come from their ability to identify what they enjoy and then making a career out of it. She also urges them to take the most out of the course, its content and the faculty support being offered by IMT-CDL.

"After working for almost six years, I believe that one's personality and approach to life is very important and an educational institute definitely gives one an edge over and above the work experience. IMT-CDL, apart from imparting knowledge, actually enhanced my personality by making me realise that it's not at all difficult to voice your thoughts and opinions in front of others through the PEP presentations." Avneet doesn't dream too big, but she is clear about her future plans to find her niche, build on the knowledge and grow in her vertical.
