Mobile Phones Can Reduce the Cost of Electricity in Households

The establishment of GLA Institute of Technology and Management (GLAITM) in the year 1998 was the first recognized initiative by the society to provide a destination of quality professional education.

Students of GLA University, Mathura conducted a survey and found out that mobile phones can be used to reduce electricity bills in households. Nowadays, Air Conditioners, Televisions, Refrigerators, etc can be controlled with mobile phones from any part of India. Phones can be used to switch off household electronic gadgets and thus save electricity.

The students at GLA University have been successful in implementing the formula that we have commonly read in newspapers or watch on television. This formula helps in controlling electronics from mobile devices. "Mobile Phones can easily control household gadgets. But for this process, two phones are needed out of which one phone is connected to the DTMF Decoder. Then, the second phone has to be connected to the first through the Decoder. Once a call is made from the second phone to the first, the Decoder converts sound rays into electrical rays. These rays control the electrical devices." said Parmanand Chaturvedi, Computer Science student (4th year) and Karna Veer, Electrical Engineering student (3rd year).

GLA University, from time to time, keeps conducting different experiments in laboratories to instil knowledge amongst students. Amb edit System Laboratories amongst other laboratories were also introduced at GLA University. Professor Krishna Kanth, Director of Institute of Engineering & Technology inaugurated the Amb edit Laboratory and enlightened the students on its usage and utility. "Mobile Phones, Washing Machines, Fridge, Digital Watch & Camera, Automobiles, Lift, Defence System, Robotics, etc are all examples of Amb edit System. Knowledge of Amb edit system is extremely important in today's world" said Professor Krishna Kanth. Associate Professor Shri Manoj Kumar briefed the students on the hardware and software of the Amb edit system. "Micro Controller is used in the hardware of Amb edit system. It is the mind of Amb edit and operates the working system", said Professor Shri Manoj Kumar. He also enlightened the students on software 'WINAVAR'. He briefed the students on different parts of the Amb edit system like DTMF Decoder, U ART Cable Interfacing, L.E.D Matrix, Serial Port Cable, Relay, etc and gave them knowledge on its operation. Students were made to experiment with Amb edit System process and were given mini projects to complete using this new technology.

During the last semester, a competition had been conducted at GLA University. It was a two day event and students actively took part in the competition. Electronics & Communication Engineering students (3rd year) stood first. Electrical & Electronics Engineering students (2nd year) placed second and third were the students from B TECH (1st year). Professor Shri Krishna Kath congratulated the students and awarded them with medals and certificates.

About GLA University Mathura - The establishment of GLA Institute of Technology and Management (GLAITM) in the year 1998 was the first recognized initiative by the society to provide a destination of quality professional education. Much-coveted other institutions; namely, GLA Institute of Pharmaceutical Research (2006), GLA Institute of Business Management (2006), and GLA Institute of Professional Studies (2006), are the results of an understanding developed by the relentless and rigorous pursuit for excellence over the past 12 years.
