The time in the incubator is up. It's time for this business to take on a new location!
Michigan Creative has been in the Technology Innovation Center (TIC) since the fall of 2011. "We've loved the space and it's helped us in lots of different ways as a startup business", says owner and CEO Brian Town. The TIC is a business incubator in East Lansing, MI, and offers short-term, inexpensive leases to startup businesses of any industry. "We would highly recommend the space to any new business owners and extend a huge thank you to the TIC for everything they've done for us" Town went on to say.
In the time in the incubator, the business has grown from just the CEO, to its current size of four part-time employees and four interns. They have also started offering more services and work with a wide variety of businesses all around the state. As the business grew, so did the need to look for a new location.
Michigan Creative began looking at the NEO center, a multi-business building located just outside of Old Town. The idea of a shared space is not new to the company and is actually something they searched for. "Moving into a space of our own doesn't make sense", Town said, "shared space equals contacts which often result in business." Michigan Creative does not depend on or really want walk-by traffic either; their target is businesses, not general consumers. Town said he is excited to connect on an extra level with people like Tom Stewart and Kincaid Henry, who are already located at the NEO Center, as well. Town said, "they really have the same vision of the area as we do; they love Lansing and enjoy helping the Mid-Michigan business community grow".
Starting December 1, 2013, http://www.michigancreativevideo.com/ will have a new home. The business will be relocating to the NEO Center to continue growing the business and hopefully meet new business contacts. "We are making the move for several reasons," says Town, "not only does our lease end (at the TIC), but we are looking for the next latest and greatest space and believe the NEO Center is the right fit for us." Town went on to say that the final decision for their new location was based on many factors like location, rent, how much space, and possible business opportunities. "This space really has it all," he said.
