Metallica's Kirk Hammet Finally Sells Pacific Heights Mansion

After nearly 3 years on market, Kirk Hammett, lead guitarist for heavy metal royalty Metallica, has finally sold his eight-bedroom, 10-bath San Francisco Home.

Located high atop prestigious Pacific Heights, 2505 Divisadero is one of the stately, ivy draped mansions amidst SF's High Society Row. First listed for $12 million, the home languished on the market for nearly 3 years until TRI-Coldwell Banker's Top agent Nina Hatvany listed it for $8.995 million in Sept. 2009. She tapped SF Interior Designer and home staging icon, Arthur McLaughlin, to give the 9,057-square-foot house a contemporary face-lift.

"It was such a grand house, that it seemed intimidating to the modern family." says Mr. McLlaughlin. "We styled it with up-to-date art and furnishings for a warm, family-friendly appeal."

A mere 59 days later, Ms. Hatvany had closed the deal.
