MangoReader Launches Apps to Encourage Reading, Foster Creativity

While growth in the use of tablets and other mobile devices by even the pre-K set has been meteoric, numerous experts have voiced concern that children are playing too much, reading not enough. That's about to change, though, with the entry of MangoR

MangoSense is the parent company of the highly innovative MangoReader app (available in IOS, Android and desktop versions), MangoEditor (enabling kids, teachers and other adults to write, publish their own books and more) and MangoStore, with over 700+ MangoReader-ready books currently available. Already growing in popularity among children, parents and educators in both India (its home base) and Singapore, founder Jagdish Rapaswai sees the US and Canada as a high priority growth market.

MangoReader launched subscription access to all the stories, with a focus on unlimited reading time, and bonding time with the family. With stories that foster a love for reading, to stories in multiple languages developing a love for language learning, to understanding global cultures and developing emotional intelligence in children. Now Parents can read stories to their children, which they learned growing up, building an emotional bond and strengthening ties to their culture and values.

MangoReader uses interactive story telling, quizzes, games, audio to make learning fun, while also encouraging creativity through the ability, to embed writing prompts and letting children create stories. Books are offered in multiple languages, making MangoReader a valuable component of English as a Second Language (ESL) programs. Students are able to record their own voice while reading or writing a story. They can publish these stories online or on the app stores.
The unique ability for children, as well as other users, to publish their own work to the MangoStore adds to the overall appeal. "Student Published" will be a category within MangoReader Store of available books to read. The company plans to donate a part of proceeds from student book sales to an education non- profit of their choosing, in their name. The remaining 95% belongs to the author! What an outstanding school fundraising opportunity.

MangoReader was already named one of the top five innovative startups by CONTEC @ Frankfurt Book Fair 2013 and received the NASSCOM Social Innovation Honors award for outstanding innovation in ICT 2013. It was awarded as the Best Education Startup at Edustars, India 2102, Accel Partners, and selected by Intel as the best educational app for the future of learning.

"We are absolutely committed to creating an app, and a total experience, that will revolutionize student learning, while being both engaging and entertaining," says Rapaswai, adding, "Our entire dedicated and creative team is working hard to add further features, functionality and resources to increase the value and usage of our platforms. We are excited about the opportunities ahead as we grow in the global markets"
