September 3, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Lesly Kahn & Co. announces the Hothouse Improvisation intro class, a six-week intensive that introduces the actor to the skills and techniques of improvisation used in creating improvised scenes, characters, relationships and dialogue.
The Hothouse Improvisation intro class is geared towards actors who intend to use improv in their auditions, on-set, at meetings, and in day-to-day situations as well.
The six-week course introduces the skills and techniques used in creating improvised scenes, characters, relationships and dialogue.
The Hothouse Improvisation intro class course includes the following topics:
-The five basic principles of improvisation.
-How to approach improvised scene work and dialogue.
-Discovering character through physicality.
-Verbal exercises that sharpen improvised dialogue.
-Using emotion to make strong, dynamic acting choices.
-How to access and fully utilize your personal voice.
-Getting out of your head and making choices "in the moment.
The course will meet on Saturdays from September 10 through October 15, 2011. The class sessions will last 3 hours each, and they will begin at 1:30 pm. The class size will be around 15 people, to keep the feel more intimate. All classes will be held at The Kahnstitute, located at 1720 North La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles.
