Online, August 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - 1.) Tell us about your current role and designation at Edelweiss Financial Services.

I am designated as Assistant Vice-President (AVP) - Products and part of the products team at Edelweiss's private banking vertical called Edelweiss Global Wealth Management. Specifically I handle a few development projects, actively looking at financing solutions.

2.) Describe a typical day at work.

Typically, most of my day is spent meeting various cross-functional teams to discuss issues relating to a product's launch, penetration or creating solutions for the client. Apart from this, my time is also spent reviewing work done by my team. Also, since we operate in a regulator environment, it is essential to keep abreast of changes in the environment. Being a capital market player, we attend various research meetings to discuss and learn market developments.

3). Please share with us three things you like and dislike about your job.

I like: the complexity of the solutions; change/ambiguity and problem solving. I dislike: making cross-functional teams work; constant deadlines and bear markets which reduce the pace of work considerably - hence seasonality.

4). What are the two most important skills required to be successful in your particular field and how can an MBA student work toward it?

a. Have an entrepreneurial mindset or ability to not work like an employee

b. Have an understanding of economics.

5). Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself in a larger role, with more products under the umbrella or running a P&L.

6). Do you have a word of advice for KIAMS students?

a. Learn the art of communication or the ability to articulate with clarity

b. Gain proficiency in Excel and PPT

7). Describe an interesting incident during your student life which you would like to share with current students.
