Pride Public Relations to host free luncheon in Charlotte, NC in honor of National Small Business Week

The hidden jewel of the Queen City is the more than 27,000 small businesses and new startups that call Charlotte home. In these tough economic times, small businesses continue to play a key role in driving the city's economic growth. Every year since 1963, the president of the United States has proclaimed National Small Business Week to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of America.

In honor of National Small Business Week, May 16-20, Pride Public Relations is hosting Staying in the Game: Unwritten Rules for Small Business Success May 17, 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Urban League of Central Carolinas, 740 W. 5th Street. The purpose of the event is to educate small business owners about best practices, provide helpful resources and allow business owners an opportunity to interact directly with industry experts and other successful small business owners.

"National Small Business Week is a celebration of the successes and the positive impact small businesses have on our economy and as a small business, Pride Public Relations thought this was the perfect opportunity to provide Charlotte small business owners with helpful tools and resources to ensure their continued success," said Nepherterra Estrada, Partner and Director of Public Relations at Pride Public Relations. "This event was made possible because our dedicated sponsors recognize the undeniable value, passion, talent and work ethic that small businesses bring to the table."

Earlier this month research released about the Queen City shows Charlotte is fourth out of 100 major metropolitan areas, as rated by The Business Journals, the online arm of the American City Business Journals Inc., which confirms the timing is perfect for this event. Staying in the Game: Unwritten Rules for Small Business Success event sponsors and partners include Charlotte Area Transit System, Fifth Third Bank, Wells Fargo, Principal Financial Group and FDY.
