Author Bertrand Arlain, has brought us his inner most thoughts and intellectually stimulating assessments of topics that are close to his heart and close to his mind. The book is both scholarly and philosophical.

The author began this book after realizing he didn't want the world to view all Caribbean Islanders the same. He wanted them to see the intelligence, the beauty, the deeper side to Islanders, like himself. His reflections are sometimes astounding and sometimes just the ordinary with a twist. He talks about where he is from and the history that makes Saint Lucia what it is today. He talks of his thoughts on Energy, Liberalism, and Life in America. He leaves you pondering his thoughts and making you re-evaluate your thoughts.

This is a wonderfully written work. Ten chapters full of ideas, reflections, and perceptions. I believe any one of the ten chapters could be used for a week long discussion between friends, scholars, or colleagues because of the depth given from the author on the subjects. The author wants everyone to think more about their life, their surroundings and realize that it's the little things in life that are important. He mixes this belief along with the intellect and scholarly thoughts.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to stimulate your mind or anyone looking for different views on today's top topics. Le Bertrand Assorted Reflections does not disappoint the mind.

About the Author
Bertrand Arlain was born on the beautiful island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean, a former French then British colony, which is currently an independent member of the British Commonwealth. He received a Master of Science degree from New York University (Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences) in 1973, after having obtained other degrees from other institutions. Currently, he works as a consultant in the area of Business and Technology Transformation Strategy, and has been an adjunct faculty member at two universities where he taught graduate courses related to business and technology transformation strategy.

He credits the attainment of most of his education to his indulgence in substantial independent reading about the diverse subjects that interest him. He enjoys reading and writing; attending the opera, symphony, some theatre and visiting museums; the sports of cricket, tennis, soccer, and the occasional well tempered indulgence in some epicurean delights. He also enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to work in Europe, Latin America and various states in the USA.
