Las Vegas to Host Rock in Rio Music Festival in 2015
The world's biggest festival Rock in Rio is to be hosted by Las Vegas in the year 2015.
Online, April 24, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Las Vegas, USA: Popular Brazilian music festival Rock in Rio set to take an entry in the entertainment capital of USA in 2015. This is great news for all the music lovers in Vegas as this famous music festival is going to take place in their city itself. It will be held for over two weekends in May 2015 in Vegas. An 80,000 capacity open air venue with five stages is to be built specially for hosting this festival on the Las Vegas Strip.
Founded by Brazilian entrepreneur Roberto Medina in 1985, Rock in Rio is now the biggest music festival in the world. Over seven million music fans have experienced the intensity of this festival as it has been staged over 13 times in Rio, Madrid and Lisbon. The partnership between the festival and MGM Resorts International, Cirque du Soleil and Ron Burkle's Yucaipa Company has led to the successful entry of Rock in Rio in US. All these partners have decided to invest around $20 million for the construction of an open air venue called, City of Rock. It will be built on 33 acres of land near the corner of Sahara Eve.
Rock in Rio will be also completing 30 years in the year 2015 which is the another reason for the celebration. "Since we had the experience of exclusive and word class outdoor venues, we had our engineers design the infrastructure", said Louis Justo, CEO of Rock in Rio.
