King & Co Prepares Exhibit For Chelsea Flower Show

The staff at the leading UK tree nursery have been working fervently on their latest project, which will be showcased at this year's centenary RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May.

After last year's success at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, during which the team at King and Co picked up a gold medal for their topiary Formula One Pitscene show garden, preparations are well underway for this coming May's centenary event. Instead of working with the WilliamsF1 team, this year the staff at the leading tree nursery will be putting together an exhibit in collaboration with Felsted School in Essex.

Fittingly, the exhibit will be called "Ex Cinere Surgemus" (literally translated from Latin to 'from the ashes we will rise'). It will seek to illustrate the devastating fire last June that completely destroyed Follyfield House, a much loved boarding house which was home to thousands of pupils across the course of its near 100-year history.

After taking in the recent devastation, a huge determination emerged from past and present pupils and the wider Felsted community to see "Follies" restored to its former glory in a new modern building. Paul King was keen to partner with the staff and pupils at Felsted to create a dramatic exhibit that would tell the story of the fire and illustrate the attempts from organisers to have the new Follyfield House rebuilt in time for the school's 450th anniversary in 2014.

The exhibit is mostly the work of the lower Sixth art and drama students and staff. Paul describes the group as a "deep reservoir of emerging talent", from which he has been able to plunder some "exquisite results".

The exhibit will be housed in The Great Pavilion and will be found at stand number GPH 1 (in the same position as previous years, much to the delight of those who regularly attend the event to study Paul's work). The RHS Chelsea Show will be taking place from the 21st to the 25th of May 2013 in the grounds of the Chelsea Hospital, south west London.
