KIDA Welcomes Joseph H. Donnelly, M.D. from For OC Kids Starting March 1, 2011

Kids Institute for Development and Advancement (KIDA) and For OC Kids Neurodevelopmental Center today announced their collaboration to provide comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnosis, and follow-up care at KIDA for Orange County children beginning March 1, 2011.

Dr. Donnelly, a Pediatric Neurologist and Director of For OC Kids, will be onsite at KIDA weekly to provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, and management for new and returning patients through For OC Kids' practice.

"Providing a one stop Autism Center of Excellence where medical, therapy and educational services can be delivered to children has been our aim. This will bring us one step closer to that vision. We are lucky to have a prominent pediatric neurologist like Dr. Donnelly in Orange County" said Fariborz Maseeh, KiDA's founder.

Dr. Donnelly echoed Dr. Maseeh's sentiments: "We are thrilled to see For OC Kids at KiDA become a reality. Through this partnership, KiDA and For OC Kids will provide excellent care and a caring approach. We will bring together a full range of clinical services, family support, educational outreach and future research to benefit children with autism and related disorders."

About Dr. Donnelly:
Dr. Donnelly received his BA in Biology from Harvard College and his MD at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed an Internship and Residency in Pediatrics at Boston City Hospital with Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Donnelly concluded his training with a Fellowship in Child Neurology at Boston City Hospital, Pediatrics and Harvard Neurology Unit, as part of the Boston University School of Medicine Child Neurology Training Program.

Dr. Donnelly is Board Certified in Pediatrics, in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology, and in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. He has had extensive experience in Pediatrics, serving as Director of a Multidisciplinary Developmental Evaluation Clinic, consultant to Shriners Hospital for Children and Massachusetts Public Health Services for Handicapped Children, Co-Director of a Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) Clinic, Co-Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic, and Chief of the Section of Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center Children's Hospital in Springfield, MA. In 2002, Dr. Donnelly was recruited to the For OC Kids Center and the University of California, Irvine Department of Pediatrics where he is a Clinical Professor. He is also a member of CHOC Children's Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty (PSF).

About For OC Kids:
For OC Kids Neurodevelopmental Center provides evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, support, education and advocacy for Orange County children with a wide range of developmental, behavioral or learning issues including autism spectrum disorders and ADHD. It is dedicated to early identification and intervention, and focuses on seeing children age birth through five initially, but provides ongoing follow up until age 22 years. Services are provided by a professional team dedicated to family centered care.
