Joy Newton Announces the Launch of Botanical Porcelain Dinnerware on Kickstarter
Designer and Artist Joy Newton launches a Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign in support of her stunning new line of dinnerware.
November 26, 2013 (Newswire.com) - With a $37,000 goal the Joy Newton Mugs & Bowls Campaign has officially launched to herald the American-made, lead-free collection of porcelain botanical dinnerware that brings art and nature beautifully to the table. Cast in porcelain to preserve the qualities of original hand-thrown pieces the campaign will highlight a collection of three items with two designs. One design will feature an eggplant and its lovely vine with the addition of real gold added to the aubergine pigment to capture the vegetable's vivid purple hue. The second design will hallmark fiddlehead fern splendidly as it reaches up and over the rim of each pleasantly designed piece. The individual themes will be incorporated on serving bowls, mugs and stacking bowls.
Replete with heirloom quality Joy Newton Botanical Porcelain has a "classic look with a contemporary vibe and an everyday durability." What more could a client ask for? Coupling graceful lines with utility even the product line's mug is designed with a gently rounded brim and a comfortable "pulled" handle which makes it easy to hold. Single-fired at a high temperature for chip-resistance the lead-free product line is dishwasher safe and microwaveable.
Newton's botanical dinnerware illustrations were inspired by the forms and colors she has enjoyed in nature since she was a child. Her intricate and artful designs have wrought a wealth of enjoyment throughout her career and now come to impetus in this beautiful dinnerware line. "Getting the shape of our mugs and bowls just right took many hands holding prototypes. There was plenty of experimenting and much to our enjoyment lots of eating and drinking. We know crowdfunders will be happy to support such a familial product with heirloom quality." added Newton.
Keeping in mind the attraction of providing much needed American jobs the designer speaks to keeping her porcelain dinnerware line on USA soil. "Not only do I want to support the country I live in with jobs for capable artisans but by manufacturing these items in America I can have exceptional quality control. These items are so special, I've put my heart and soul into each piece." said Newton. Designed in Connecticut, hand-thrown in Oregon and produced in Ohio and New York the Joy Newton Porcelain Botanical Dinnerware line will be American born and breed much to its creator's good pleasure.
