JLCC, Inc. Gets EPA 40 CFR 60.18 Certification on Smokeless Flare

JLCC, Inc. receives formal notification of a completed third-party performance evaluation, certifying the Smokeless Flares under EPA 40 CFR 60.18 guidelines.

JLCC, Incorporated (Jerry Lang Combustion Consulting) is pleased to announce they have received formal notification of a completed third-party performance evaluation, certifying the Smokeless Flare under EPA 40 CFR 60.18 guidelines. JLCC has developed a smokeless flare specifically to meet NSPS Quad-O regulation for Oil and Gas Production flaring needs using Jerry Lang's Advanced Burner Technology. The flare combinations are patent-pending and are available for Oil and Gas Production and other sites that are flaring waste and vent gas in projects such as flow back, completion, well site, compressor site, and tank batteries.

JLCC's President and Global Combustion Consultant of over fifty years Jerry Lang says these burners are capable of more than 98% combustion.

With current emission requirements continuing to be a problem for oil and gas field operations, and Quad-O regulations being implemented, most flares that are only combusting forty to fifty percent of the waste gases flowing to them are about to be a thing of the past. JLCC's Smokeless Flares stand to be a necessity now and in the coming months due to new regulation declaring combustors to be "free of visible emissions".

Brad Smith of JLCC who has been part of the new development process, said "There are a lot of so-called smokeless flare products being pushed around out there and some of them have been certified for two hours, but will they still be smokeless in the morning? The problem with most of these products is the one or two size fits all mentality. If proper calculations are not used based on individual sites including gas composition, btu value, pressure, and flow rate, smokeless is just a word and not a real solution".

JLCC has been designing and building advanced solutions such as Low NOx and Ultra Low NOx burners for the refining industry for many years, helping these clients resolve combustion and emission issues and increase efficiency.
