Jeri Lassiter, ASM's Chairman and CEO, was recognized by Washington SmartCEO magazine as a winner at the 2012 Brava! Business Achievement Awards held on July 24 at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University. The Brava! Awards celebrate the distinguished achievements of 25 Greater Washington's women business leaders. This year's winners collectively generate $1.7 billion in revenue and employ over 4,800 people. Additionally, the 2012 Brava winners are profiled in the July 2012 issue of Washington SmartCEO magazine.

The Washington Brava! Awards, now in its sixth year of celebration, kicked off with a nomination process ending this past March. Across the Mid-Atlantic, over 200 nominations were collected for the program. To be considered for the Brava! Awards, nominees were required to be women executives leading companies that generated at least $1 million in revenue and who encouraged local philanthropy, mentor fellow CEOs, and set their companies on the path to tremendous growth. A dozen local business leaders in Greater Washington came together to form the Brava committee and to choose this year's winners.

"This is an incredible program celebrating women who are passionate leaders within their industry and community. I'm thrilled to be recognized among them," said Jeri Lassiter.

"Jeri Lassiter's success at ASM is inspirational. Starting in 1979 as a programmer and the third ASM employee, she took over as CEO/President in 2001. She envisioned ASM as a leading IT solutions company and set the strategy and objectives to achieve that vision," said John Fraser, ASM's President and COO. "We are extremely proud of her personal success and contributions to ASM and our community."

"The 2012 Brava winners are an impressive group of women doing exceptional things for our community and beyond. They are the leaders of today and tomorrow-a highly talented group that has the drive to do great things. I am sure we will continue to hear of their success for many, many years to come," says Jaime Nespor, group publisher of SmartCEO magazine. "We are honored to recognize such a group of women and their accomplishments."

The winners were celebrated at the Washington Brava! Awards ceremony on July 24, 2012, at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University. Nearly 400 C-level executives and guests attended to celebrate the winners' achievements.

Suite donations were also accepted the evening of the event for SmartCEO's Washington Brava! Awards charity partner, Suited for Change, an organization which helps low-income women to increase their employment and job retention potential by providing professional attire and contributing to their economic independence. ASM Research staff donated over 100 suits as well as boxes of pants, shirts, and shoes for this worthy cause.
