Online, November 6, 2012 (Newswire.com) - For nine years, Hyderabad city's running community has rallied behind the Hyderabad 10K Run, being conducted by the Hyderabad 10K Foundation. It's time now to repay their loyalty and commitment to the event by giving them a much more enhanced and satisfying running experience.

The race on November 25, 2012 will be the 10th edition of this prestigious event and this milestone occasion will be used to lay the foundations for transforming the event into a completely new entity.

This responsibility has been bestowed upon Procam International, the pioneers of the "International Running Movement" in India, who are now committed to convert the Hyderabad 10K into a much bigger and grander international race in the years to come.

Rao, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, along with Raj Assomull, representing the board of of Jamba Cloud, today announced that Hyderabad city would pay host to the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K Run on November 25, 2012.

Also present at the event was Uma Chigurupati, Chairperson Hyderabad 10K Run Foundation, Anil & Vivek B Singh of Procam International, the promoters of the event, representatives of the events partners and various dignitaries and celebrities.

The Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K will be a synthesis of endurance and pace, and will provide a platform for every sports lover to run on the same route in the footsteps of the elite runners for a cause they believe in. It also will be a test of fitness and endurance - both physical and emotional.

The Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K will also give an opportunity to serious and amateur runners from Hyderabad and around the country to experience the rarified atmosphere that pervades an international running event. Timing chips will be available to all 10K runners, which in turn will ensure they get a timing certificate that ratifies their timing and is recognised in running circles throughout the world.

The Hyderabad 10K Run Foundation is a charitable organization, started out of passion for the city of Hyderabad in 2003. The main objective is to encourage and support various social issues related to Health and Fitness. The Foundation has been organizing the 10K Run, Athletic Meets in association with the Athletic Federation, School Sports and the Hyderabad Heritage Marathon every year.

The Foundation has taken up the cause of Mission Sports & identified some government schools and aided them to provide training facilities for young sports persons in Hyderabad.

The Foundation also taken into account the invaluable contribution of veteran sports persons and felicitated them, recognizing and awarding them for their dedication to the world of sports.

The Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K, will be certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and conducted under the auspices of the Andhra Pradesh Athletic Association and is being partnered by leading brands and corporates in their fields, critical to the fabric of the Event.

While Online Registrations for the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K began on October 27, physical registrations will begin today and will shut as soon as the 15000 running places are full. There are five thousand running places on offer for the 10K Run and 10,000 running places on offer for the 7 km Mazza Run. The website will also offer every participant an opportunity to purchase a personalized participation photograph through Marathon-Photos.com, the worldwide market leader in Event Photography & the Official Photographer to the Event. The website will also have a Volunteer Application Database - through which one can apply to volunteer for the Event. The website will evolve on a daily basis to include Blogs, Contests, Photos uploading etc.

There will be two events on Race Day, namely the 10 Km Run, open to those above 15 years of age (born on or before 24-11-1997) and the 7 km Mazza Run, open to those over 12 years of age (born on or before 24-11-2000). The 10K Run will have the overall category, the Indian category, the veteran category, the senior veteran category and super veteran category.

The 10 Km Run will be a compulsorily timed race category and will have an application fee of Rs 550, (including timing chip and service tax). Applicants residing outside India will have to pay USD 25 for the same. The Mazza Run will have an application fee of Rs 350, (including service tax) with applicants residing outside India having to pay USD 15.

Entry to the 10K Run category will be confirmed based on confirmation preference criteria, which are explained in detail in the application form.

•The course for 10K Run will only be open for up to 2 hours from the start time.
•Applications with a timing certificate attached will have higher chance of being confirmed in the 10K Run
•Confirmed applicants of 10K Run category who have provided timing certificates along with their application forms, will be eligible for priority line-up on race day, within the line-up area, in their respective timing sections, based on the finish times given in the submitted timing certificates:

The total prize money on offer is Rs 17.5 lakh, which will be divided between the overall category and the Indian category. While the overall category will also include the foreign elite athletes, the Indian category is a separate prize fund for Indian men and women athletes, and will also include prize money for veterans, senior veterans and super veterans.

There is prize money up to five places in the Overall Category and Indian category, with the men and women winners in the overall category standing to gain Rs 1.5 lakh each. The men and women winners in the Indian category will take home Rs 1 lakh each while there will also be prize money for the men and women winners in the veteran category (three places), senior veteran category (two places) and super veteran category (two places).

The Open 10K Run: This run will be an open event for serious and amateur runners, fitness enthusiasts and sports lovers, the 10km route being the same used by the elite runners. Besides getting an opportunity to follow in their illustrious footsteps, the Open 10K Run participants will havethe timing chip to use during their run, which will give them their timing down to the split second, as well as a timing certificate recognised globally. 5,000 running places are on offer for this category.

The Mazza Run: This run is targeted at every citizen of Hyderabad who wants to come out on to roads and express solidarity with the event that aspires to put Hyderabad on the world running map and inculcates a culture of health and fitness among the masses. Open to those above the age of 12, this run over 7 km encourages participants to raise money and support causes of their choice, even while sending across a message to the rest of the world that Hyderabad City is vibrant and rocking. 10,000 running places are on offer for this category.
