Is Your Power Company Killing You? Ours Is!

Online, April 24, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Did your power company make a new commitment to your health and lower costs? Does your utility share your environmental, political, and social commitments? Not unless the utility executives share the same paper proclamations and treaties you do.

The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) burns the dirtiest at night while you sleep. They are the silent killers whose airborne pollution seeps in through the fine cracks around our windows and whose pollution settles into our soils and waterways to eventually pollute our drinking water and food.

LIPA still relies on burning coal, oil, fracking for natural gas, and with gratitude no longer is licensed to operate an unsafe nuclear power plant to supply Long Island with electricity. Vigilance is what it took to close the Shoreham Nuclear Power plant; and vigilance is what it is going to take for the elected oversight of LIPA.

Last weekend, Mr. John McMahon was appointed by Governor Cuomo's office to run the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). His title is Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a salary of $275K per year. He is the third COO in six months. Mr. McMahon is a retired veteran of Con Edison. By the way, Con Ed is the last American owned utility in NY State. His salary was once $5.2M, so will he be vigilant? Unlikely. Mr. Richard Kauffman recommended him, which begs the question: who is he to recommend anyone? Mr. Kauffman recently joined the U.S. Energy Department to serve as a Senior Advisor to Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu from Garden City, NY. Trustees are obligated to be whistleblowers --- if they are not whistleblowers they are co-conspirators. As an attorney, McMahon has an affirmative obligation to stop or report future and current crime and injury at LIPA (and PAST crime and injury if LIPA is not his client --- but LIPA is not his client and such an attorney/client role would be a conflict-of-interest that would bar him from being a trustee.) Mr. McMahon is obligated by law and attorney's ethical rules to be a whistleblower --- let's see what happens now!

Their motive is to be determined. However, the timing of Mr. McMahon's appointment should be clearly attributable to lawsuits against the NY State and the utility, since these actions continue to expose LIPA's incompetence, cronyism, and illegal contracts with foreign companies (UK based National Grid). Our democracy was designed to reveal these truths. However, the lawsuit to force ELECTED TRUSTEES into LIPA is currently deadlocked by a pattern of crime suborned by judicial federalist tyranny.

Earth Day provocation 2013: it is said that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. Take that principal one step further by embracing nature preservation.

The three insurgent ratepayers are driving for more TRUTHs -- an energy expert, a business strategist, and an attorney --- by way of election law for JUSTICE, and to create elected oversight of LIPA.
