IndoSpace Chakan, the first in the series of modern industrial and logistics parks being developed across India, has leased a 150,000 square feet light manufacturing facility to Leoni, from where the company will deliver cables and cable systems to customers from different industries. Leoni is a leading provider of cables and cable systems to the automotive sector and other industries and this is their second plant in India.

Leoni plans to make an investment of around EUR 11 million for the facilities and the equipment and to have about 140 employees. The new plant has a production area of around 150,000 square feet and has already started the manufacturing of standard cables for the fast growing automotive industry at the beginning of the year. At a later date, the new plant shall also produce automotive special cables and industrial cables for markets in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Process Industry, Power Plants, Railways and Solar Markets .

IndoSpace Chakan is a 1.7 million square feet industrial park spread across 100 acres. The integrated industrial park houses, modern warehouses and light manufacturing facilities which are designed to meet the logistics and supply chain needs of global companies. Located on the northern side of Pune, Chakan is a major industrial center in western India, and is home to a large number of Indian and multinational manufacturing facilities. Speaking about the new manufacturing plant in Pune, Dr. Klaus Probst, President and CEO of Leoni AG said, "India promises attractive medium and long-term growth prospects for several of our targeted industrial markets."
