Hurricane Sandy Survivors & Emergency Personnel Turn to Johnny on the Spot & Central Jersey Septic for Disaster Relief Services in NJ, NY & PA.

Crews from both Johnny on the Spot Portable Restrooms & Temporary Fencing and Central Jersey Septic provided around-the-clock emergency services to those in need throughout NJ, NY & PA following Hurricane Sandy.

In the aftermath following Super Storm Sandy, Johnny on the Spot & Central Jersey Septic were able to deliver disaster relief services to residents, businesses, municipalities and government emergency teams swiftly despite many obstacles. With power outages and communication channels crippled, the offices of Johnny on the Spot and Central Jersey Septic were powered up (on a generator) and fielding requests for portable restroom units, restroom trailers, shower trailers, temporary fencing and waste/storm water management. Many hours of hard work and determination ensured no request went unfulfilled and that emergency crews could find some comfort in a situation that was anything but normal.

Johnny on the Spot quickly adapted its operation to suspend normal service routes and allocated its resources to incoming emergency requests. It all began with requests for storm water management and portable restrooms following Sandy's landfall and continues from township and county offices of emergency management, United States National Guard and countless other organizations working to provide disaster relief services. Johnny on the Spot dispatched over 600 work orders in the two weeks following Sandy's landfall. The comfort of being able to use a portable restroom, something many people traditionally look at as undesirable, suddenly became a blessing for people displaced from their battered or destroyed homes. Businesses were also quick to call Johnny on the Spot when towns began placing restrictions on water and sewer usage. Bringing in portable restrooms allowed such businesses to remain open. With the rebuilding phase already started and expected to intensify, Johnny on the Spot is ready to provide portable restrooms & temporary fencing with reliable service to the construction industry too.

Responding to such a demand for services while having numerous obstacles to overcome was admittedly a challenge for JOTS/CJS. "Navigating our roadways with large trucks and trailers is difficult enough during normal conditions. Adding in road closures, fallen trees, power lines, water and debris blocking roadways while power outages leave you unable to cross roadways or see well at night, made our efforts even more difficult," Operations Manager Marvin Hyer Sr. noted. Hyer with over 30 years of experience in the site sanitation industry also went on to add, "Our team realized the task at hand, overcame adversity amidst difficult circumstances and really made an impact on the disaster relief effort across NJ, NY & PA. We could not be more proud of our team and we once again proved why Johnny on the Spot is one of the most reputable portable sanitation companies in the country. JOTS also made an donation to the RAINE Foundation, money which came from a forfeited bonus by over 40 employees combined with a company match, to aid their efforts.

Johnny on the Spot, Inc. (JOTS) began in 1957 with septic pumping, and added portable sanitation units in 1970. Since that time, "The JOTS Difference" has produced one of the nation's most progressive providers of portable restrooms with state of the art facilities, the highest quality products, accountable service technicians with incentives for perfect service, and the development of service vehicle specifications which are now considered the industry standard nationwide, among others. Johnny on the Spot has continually been recognized by trade organizations as a model company for its operation, customer satisfaction and community involvement.
