Owning a laptop such as an Acer makes it possible to consolidate work and media onto one device. You can conduct business, surf the internet, manage music and movies, all from a machine that fits easily into a travel bag. Of course all of these features are pretty useless if the laptop doesn't have any power. The good news is that Acer laptops are very user-friendly, and even the least tech-savvy computer owner shouldn't have a problem charging its battery; here's how.

Turn off your Acer computer and make sure the Acer accumulator is secure in its bay. You can locate the battery by turning the computer over. It is a rectangular piece about half the length of the computer and its bay is at the edge of the laptop.

Plug one end of the AC adapter (cable that came with the computer) into the jack on the side of your Acer and plug the other end into a nearby power source. You can charge and use the laptop while the power is on, but it is recommended that you charge the battery while the power off as it cuts charge time in half.

Verify the battery indicator light on the AC adapter is a solid amber color. If it is flashing different colors that means that the Acer battery is overheating. If this is the case, remove the AC adapter and wait a few minutes for the battery to cool before attempting to recharge.

Remove the AC adapter once it registers a solid green color. This will mean your battery is fully charged. You may also monitor the status of the charging battery from the battery indicator light just above the keyboard on the right side of the computer.
