Gynecology and Infertility Associates was acquired by Wentworth -Douglass Health System on December 29, 2013.
Online, April 9, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Gynecology and Infertility Associates was acquired by Wentworth - Douglass Health System on December 29, 2013. As is the case with many private practices, the changing healthcare climate, increasing regulations and increasing overhead costs led to the decision to sell the practice. Dr Cynthia Cooper said, "I knew it was time to sell when our information technology costs exceeded the costs of our malpractice insurance!"
The transition was seamless and patients should not notice any difference except that "Wentworth Health Partners" has been added to the sign on the door. Dr. Cooper and Dr Kalter are still seeing their patients daily in the same office space. They have been able to expand their office hours and now see patients Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM. Services include routine gynecologic care, contraceptive counseling, infertility treatment, menopause management, and care for gynecologic issues such as pelvic pain and abnormal uterine bleeding. The physicians also specialize in minimally invasive surgery which may be needed for the treatment of gynecologic conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis and pelvic relaxation.
Dr. Cooper is quite pleased with the acquisition. She says, "Now I have more time to concentrate solely on my patients and their needs, and no longer need to worry about billing and collections - it is wonderful.
