Galveston Island, TX (March 10, 2014) - It's that time again. The fifth annual Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival returns with all your favorite events and new wines. Last year's event included wines from 25 vineyards and this year the event expects to surpass those numbers. The 5th Annual Food and Wine Fest kicks off with a pre-event Blind Tasting on April 9, then the real deal starts April 24th with entertainment continuing through April 27th. From $25 to $130 there is a package that fits any budget and enough wine selections to satisfy the most critical palate. Blind Wine Tasting: April 9th from 6:00pm-8:00pm
All participating wines will be blind sampled and judged to narrow down to the top 3 red and 3 white wines at the Blind Wine Tasting held at Bienville Social. Limited tickets are available to the public for $25/person.
Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Dinner: April 24th at American National Insurance Co. 21st Floor.
The invitation only dinner guests will blind taste the top 3 red and top 3 whites to determine the Grand Champion, Grand Reserve Champion and Reserve Champion. The Confrerie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs™ is the oldest and largest food and wine society in the world.
Premium Wine Tasting and Pairing: April 25th from 6:00pm-8:00pm
The Premium Wine Tasting and Pairing returns this year for the true gourmand. Guests will enjoy premium wines from vineyards around the world and decadent hors d'oeuvres along with exclusive art exhibits. Tickets are available to the public for $90/person.
The Grand Tasting: April 26th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm
The Grand Tasting is the highlight of the festival. Patrons will embark on a tasting trip through vineyards from all around the world, enjoying approximately 150 wines and a variety of food samplings from the Island's top restaurants. The fantastic live music and the barrage of artisan exhibits along the park will complete this afternoon of indulgences.
