Today most entrepreneurs and small business owners are taking large risks, but Christian Cisneros is an example of a local auteur who is also a global entrepreneur. For his directorial feature debut, Cisneros set out to make a film about an adventurer lost in the wilderness, and ended up making the film twice: one in Spanish and one in English. The resulting films, HOMBRE Y TIERRA and THE WOODSMAN, have screened at over 20 film festivals across the globe, taking home numerous awards. Most recently, HOMBRE Y TIERRA had the honor of opening the prestigious 2013 FreeStyle Life Film Exhibition, followed up by its English counterpart, THE WOODSMAN. The Film tells the story of Mauro Bosque (played by Maurice Ripke), an explorer and survivalist who stars in his own popular webseries "Hombre y Tierra". While shooting an episode in the forests of Belize, Bosque disappeared and his whereabouts remained a mystery until the footage from his excursion was found. Filmed in his hometown of Austin, Texas, HOMBRE Y TIERRA was a true labor of love for Cisneros and his production company, The Moving Image Company. Producing both English and Spanish versions of the film took a huge personal risk for Cisneros, who relied on his team's creative and technical support to achieve his vision. Cisneros said, "As we decided to shoot the entire film in both English AND Spanish, this required a bilingual talent who was believable and capable in both languages, a huge accomplishment for any serious actor. Maurice [Ripke] pulled off the feat with an amazing amount of grace and talent." Even if the production took twice as long, the producers figured that this unique approach of shooting the film in two languages allowed for broader appeal to the two distinct mass markets of English and Spanish speaking audiences.

HOMBRE Y TIERRA and THE WOODSMAN are both currently screening as part of The 2013 FreeStyle Life Film Exhibition.
