Free NY Writing Class on Business of Being a Writer

"The Business of Being a Writer," a complimentary seminar for authors, poets and journalists, will be held on Saturday, December 8th at New York's Jefferson Market Library.

The one-hour writing class will cover the basic information a writer needs in order to start or grow their writing career as a business.

Offering free author marketing tips to grow platform, social media presence, and readership, the NY writing class is designed for both new writers and established writers. At "Business of Being a Writer" writers interested in turning their work into profitable assets will learn the first steps toward becoming a lucrative freelance writer.

Creative writers often wonder where the line is drawn between hobby and business. In addition to author marketing, the free writing class will cover the benefits of operating your writing career as a business and how to start doing so.

Free NY Writing Class

The free NY writing class begins at noon on Saturday, December 8th in Greenwich Village's Jefferson Market Library, 425 6th Avenue at 10th Street. The seminar is formatted as a 30-minute seminar followed by a 30-minute Q&A. Seating is highly limited and writers must register at taralynnegroth dot com. The writing seminar is hosted by Tara Lynne Groth, a freelance writer and blogger based in Raleigh, North Carolina who resigned from her salaried job in 2010 to run her writing business full-time. She makes her living entirely by the pen. Her work has appeared in AirTran Airways' GO, Blue Ridge Outdoors, Draft and dozens of other magazines. She is the author of the only guidebook to the Bonnaroo Music Festival and three poetry books.

Tara Lynne Groth is a freelance writer and blogger based in Raleigh, North Carolina with approximately 10 years of marketing experience.
