Aequare Fine Chocolates has partnered with famed violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn to produce a violin-shaped box of fine chocolates for concert guests and music-lovers. The red violin-shaped box is representative of the famous red Stradivarius owned by Pitcairn, and contains 20 chocolate bon-bons in traditional and exotic flavors including plain dark chocolate, vanilla, passion fruit, ishpingo, lemongrass, saffron, blackberry and others.

The chocolates are available at www.elizabethpitcairn.com and at her concert events.

Aequare Fine Chocolates, located in Quito, Ecuador is the first chocolatier to export world-class confections into the U.S. made almost entirely from ingredients and materials produced in the country of origin.
California native and classically trained French Chef Jeff Stern created the line of chocolates believing that Ecuador is home to the world's most decadent cocoa beans.

"What a terrific honor to work with Ms. Pitcairn on such a personal project," said Stern. "What a great way for her to share her passion for music and chocolate with other music lovers."

Pitcairn made her New York debut at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in 2000 with the New York String Orchestra and appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music. She also performs in partnership with the legendary 1720 "Red Mendelssohn" Stradivarius, the 1990 Christie's auction of which is said to have inspired the 1999 Academy Award-winning film, "The Red Violin." The historic violin was crafted in 1720 by Antonio Stradivari, who lovingly made his instruments in his small shop in Cremona, Italy centuries ago, and remains the most famous violin maker.
