Employee Evaluation Study Shows Why Grapevine Evaluations' Survey Platform Is Ideal

A new study exploring employees' thoughts of their performance appraisals shines light on the need for sophisticated employee evaluation platforms like the one provided by Grapevine Evaluations.

A recent study by HR.BLR.com about employees' thoughts of their performance appraisals shines light on the need for sophisticated employee evaluation platforms like the one provided by Grapevine Evaluations.

The survey provided by the human resources training company questioned 1,358 participants about their employer's performance appraisals, of which 94% reported that their organization conducted these evaluations. Of this 94%, 77% rated their company's performance evaluation methods with a score of C or worse, meaning the vast majority of participants were unhappy with their employer's evaluation procedures.

The report lists the three worst mistakes that participants believed their employers made in evaluations:

1) Not following up with employees after the review
2) Placing the weight of all employee responses equally, regardless of hierarchy
3) Only focusing on the last performance

This data shows that archaic performance evaluation methods are reducing the efficacy and potential of the evaluation process. Grapevine has proven to circumvent the above problems by providing a completely web-based survey platform with a variety of customizable features.

The company's evaluations make the time and resource-consuming process of evaluation follow-up simple by not only sending out automated follow-up messages, but tracking non-responsive participants to complete the evaluation process. Grapevine's state-of-the-art employee evaluation software allows users to easily define participant groups or relationships and visualizes results by group, avoiding the problem of placing employees equally in the final report. Each report is logged in the system and can be accessed again for future use.

Other useful features of Grapevine's platform include the ability to see answers in real time as well as the option to compare an individual's assessment to company or department averages. Companies who are currently using outdated employee evaluation procedures will benefit from switching to a system such as Grapevine's, which should also lead to more satisfied employees and better results in future studies.
