Emma, Inc. Adds Business Development Specialist to Austin Satellite Office

Abby Alwan has joined online marketing and communications firm Emma, Inc. as a business development specialist in the company's Austin office, company leadership announced today.

Abby Alwan has joined online marketing and communications firm Emma, Inc. as a business development specialist in the company's Austin office, company leadership announced today.

Alwan comes to Emma from milk + honey spa in downtown Austin. As a manager and member of the spa's marketing and sales teams, Alwan helped direct local events, grow sales and hire and train new employees.

She has extensive sales experience, previously working as a sales consultant for the SaaS company Meltwater News; a regional retail manager for Corepower Yoga in Chicago; and a national retail manager for David Barton Gym, also in Chicago.

"Abby's retail, business development and sales experience and familiarity with the Austin area is exactly what we needed for this fast-paced job," said Jonathan Gesinger, business development manager, who's been part of Emma's Austin outpost since it was established in 2009. "Abby will bring an enterprising spirit to this position. She has already started adding new ideas and working to grow our team."

Alwan graduated with a bachelor's degree in merchandising management from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago.
