Dr. Michael Yessis Introduces Technique Breakthrough To Teach Any Baseball Pitcher How To Pitch 100 MPH

Legendary biomechanist offers frame by frame analysis of San Francisco Giants' pitcher Tim Lincecum along with form improvements to allow any pitcher to throw 100 MPH.

Dr. Michael Yessis, the preeminent biomechanist in the United States, is releasing a video that discusses the technique needed to pitch 100 mph, and how to acquire that specialized technique.

In the video, in which he analyzes two time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum frame-by-frame, Dr. Yessis explains that pitching 100 mph is not out of the ordinary, nor out of the reach for anyone pitching today. He points out that most pitchers do not pitch 100 mph because they do not know how to pitch 100 mph, i.e. they lack the technique, (often called pitching mechanics) to do so.

"The proper technique to pitch 100 mph requires a progression on body parts beginning with the feet in the all important stride" states the legendary, biomechanic pioneer Dr. Yessis DoctorYessis.com.

In this video Analysis of Lincecum, Dr. Yessis also covers the landing, using Tim Lincecum as an ideal example because of his long, powerful stride and near perfect landing. He also talks about how force is generated in pitching, particularly when discussing how to pitch mph.

He closes with the point that technique is a very personal thing and that one size does not fit all...not even a great like Tim Lincecum.

During his fifty plus years of working with athletes, Dr. Yessis developed what has come to be known as the "Yessis System" for improving running speed. His three-step method has been successfully used to improve athletes in basketball, football, soccer, baseball, track and other sports. Most notable is the improvement in sports technique. He is considered this country's foremost expert on sports technique. In the Jan 2011 issue of Muscle & Fitness, Dr. Yessis is referred to as the legendary biomechanist.
Dr. Yessis has written 16 books in the sports and fitness field including "Build A Better Athlete" Dr. Yessis Books and "Biomechanics & Kinesiology of Exercise, and written more than 2,000 articles on fitness and sports training that have appeared in magazines such as Muscle and Fitness, Shape, Scholastic Coach, Fitness Management, National Strength and Conditioning Association Journal and Track and Field Coaches Review.
