DEL Ozone Introduces An Advanced Oxidation Process For Residential Pools

Online, November 5, 2012 (Newswire.com) - DEL Ozone announces the development of the Solar Eclipse, an Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) system that is small, efficient and designed for compatibility with standard residential pool mechanical and plumbing equipment. The Solar Eclipse will provide the highest disinfection potential of any agent or process currently available for residential pools. Orders are being taken now, for delivery in spring 2013.

AOP systems are characterized by the generation of hydroxyl free radicals (•OH), the most powerful oxidizer available that is safe for human water quality applications. One of the known AOP methods is to feed ozone through a UV light field, triggering a chemical reaction that produces hydroxyl free radicals. This in turn leads to the oxidation of organic and inorganic contaminants in treated water, ending with the complete breakdown of the contaminants.

The Solar Eclipse uses the DEL Ozone Advanced Plasma Gap (patent pending) ozone generator coupled with germicidal UV lamps supplied by Trident Ultraviolet Corporation to create an AOP system that can be installed in new or existing residential pools. It will be available in 240 volt configuration, and will be plumbed on the pool return line using just two simple connections. The installation and operation of the Solar Eclipse will be familiar to pool builders and maintenance professionals who have installed ozone systems.
