Deepalaya School's Annual Day

DEEPALAYA SCHOOL, GOLE KUAN CELEBRATES ITS THIRD ANNUAL DAY on 14th January,2012

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom"

These famous lines speak volumes about the fact that hope is what keeps us going and what makes our life worth living. Deepalaya School, Gole Kuan began its journey 22 years ago with a hope of providing a better future for the underprivileged children. The School initially started off by providing remedial classes to the poor children and after nine years of its inception it started providing formal education too. On 14th January 2012, the School will celebrate its third Annual Day at the auditorium of Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension from 10:30 am onwards. The highlights of the day will be different song and dance performances by the students and a special play-"Cooking Khichdi".

The school is celebrating this Day in order to provide its children an equal opportunity to showcase their latent talents like in any other well recognized public school. Situated amongst the slums of Gole Kuan village, this School is unique for its connection with its adjacent communities making it one of the most approachable epitome of knowledge for the less privileged in the area.

Both formal and Non-formal form of education is provided in the School. Vocational training in tailoring, beauty culture, and embroidery etc is conducted in the School building. The staff tries to make all ends meet and recently despite of lacking a proper playground for the children, the School celebrated its Sports day on the 23rd December at the nearby park.

Deepalaya, a non-governmental development organization works on the issues affecting urban and rural poor, with a special focus on children. It is because' Every Child Deserves a Chance' that the organization exits and works towards making that possible. 31years back, the organization had set for itself the mission of creating a better future for the children in the slums of Delhi by imparting education to them.

Your presence and appreciation definitely counts for the children to instill a new lease of motivation within them, with which they can stride across the globe charting numerous success stories.

We look forward to your support in making the children and the school brim with confidence and help us create a buzz about our work in order to reach out to a larger number of needy people.
