Dance Hall Pimps Set To Release Debut Album Through Lakeshore Records
Los Angeles based show band will release their debut album BEAST FOR LOVE through Lakeshore Records.
Online, March 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Genre-bending show band Dance Hall Pimps will release their debut album Beast for Love on March 6th, 2012 through Lakeshore Records. Beast for Love features twelve tracks (10 originals and 2 covers), showcasing the band's fresh take on genres ranging from swampy garage rock to New Orleans-style rags and romp. Combining dark and twisted subject matter, wistful lyrics with upbeat tempos and mind-blowing vocals, the album can hardly fit neatly into any one genre.
Vocal tracks for Beast for Love were recorded at Nightbird Studios at the famous Sunset Marquis Hotel. The album was produced by Grammy Winner Matt Hyde (Porno for Pyros, Cypress Hill) and Rob Hill (Korn, Soul Assassins, Xzibit, Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Queen, Jackson Browne). Each member of the Dance Hall Pimps wrote, co-wrote or arranged at least one song on Beast for Love.
Formed in February 2009 by blues singer/songwriter RJC and guitarist Jeff Jourard (formerly of The Motels), the Dance Hall Pimps have taken the music industry by storm for their exhilarating performances, raw hooks and unconventional lyrics. The band was signed to Lakeshore Records (Lakeshore Entertainment) in 2010 after they had played only a handful of shows. Performing selectively on the Sunset Strip (Viper Room, Roxy) and elsewhere in Hollywood (Bar Sinister, King King, Maolly Malones), the Dance Hall Pimps have quickly earned a reputation for loyal enthusiastic crowds and electric performances.
