Undergoing infertility treatments such as IVF can cause not only physical and emotional stress, but can bring financial strain as well. Fertility treatment costs, particularly IVF, can add up. In order to help such couples afford fertility treatments, CRAFT Hospital, a specialty infertility research and treatment centre, today launched India's first infertility money back scheme 'IVF Suraksha' which guarantees money back in case the treatment methods fail. Couple's who yearn for a baby can become members of this scheme by paying Rs. 2,50,000.

Through the 'IVF Suraksha' scheme, members are assured of two IVF - ICSI, three to five frozen embryo transfers, blastocyst transfer, assisted hatching and freezing of extra embryos. In addition, in case of failure of treatment, the money deposited will be refunded.

There are certain criteria for enrolling to this scheme. Couples who have been tested positive in physical fitness test can pay the amount and become a member of the scheme, and thereupon, the CRAFT Administrative officer will issue a signed guarantee certificate. The complete IVF - ICSI treatments, given on two occasions (if necessary), will be provided within the period of one and a half years. The scheme does not cover the expenses involved in the treatment of miscarriage, tubal pregnancy. After eleven weeks of conception, if the fetus is found to be normal and healthy, in the scanning and other tests, the scheme will come to an end.

Commenting on the launch of the scheme, Dr. Mohamed Ashraf said, "Our success rate has provided us the confidence to introduce this unique money-back scheme. The national average of success rate in this field is 22%. But for the last three years we have been maintaining the rate between 50% and 70%."

Various studies have established the fact that the anxiety factor often affects the result of the infertility treatment adversely. In this scheme, there lies no fear of losing money, if treatment fails. This gives an opportunity for the patients to undergo the treatment without any tension, and to achieve success. In addition, there is a widespread apprehension that donors are often used in IVF treatment. But CRAFT hospital is the only institution that has completely banned donor-based treatment. CRAFT Hospital offers world-class treatment for infertility with advanced procedures and equipment, and has been achieving high success rates. The team at Craft Hospital consists of expert doctors who specialize in Reproductive medicine, Nurse-counselors, Ultrasonographers, and Embryologists.
