Corporate and Securities Attorney, Jeffrey A. Koeppel, Joins Halpin Law

Jeffrey A. Koeppel, a corporate and securities attorney with over 30 years of experience, has a unique understanding of crowdfunding, the new phenomena of raising small amounts of capital from a large number of people over the Internet.

Managing Partner Kirk Halpin announced today that Jeffrey A. Koeppel has joined The Law Offices of Kirk Halpin & Associates. Mr. Koeppel brings broad experience in complex corporate transactions, and assists entrepreneurs and companies seeking to raise debt and/or equity capital in the private and public markets.

Mr. Koeppel, a native of Washington, D.C., was a Senior Branch Attorney - Adviser in the Division of Corporate Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for three years prior to a three-decade tenure at the corporate/banking/securities boutique law firm of Elias, Matz, Tiernan & Herrick LLP, Washington, D.C.

His practice focuses on corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and corporate financings. His clients range from startups to public companies in industries including high tech, banking, retail, software, gaming, entertainment, new media, manufacturing, consumer products, and distribution. Mr. Koeppel recently spoke at Stanford Law School's Best Practices Conference about, and currently blogs (at on, crowdfunding, the new phenomena of raising small amounts of capital from a large number of people over the Internet.

Mr. Koeppel is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, the University of Baltimore School of Law, and has a Master of Finance degree from The Joseph Sellinger School of Business, Loyola University Maryland. He is a member of the Bar of the States of Maryland and New York, as well as Washington, D.C. The Martindale-Hubbell Rating System lists Mr. Koeppel as an AV-rated attorney, the highest possible level of achievement.

He has extensive first-chair transactional experience with expertise in extraordinary corporate transactions, including structuring, negotiating, diligencing, drafting and closing private and public capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising boards of directors and senior management, preparing regulatory applications and periodic reports, interfacing with federal and state regulators, negotiating and preparing commercial agreements, and advising on disclosure and related matters.
