Cleveland India Festival 2011

The 2nd annual India Fest USA "Celebrating Health and Wellness 2011" will be held at Independence Middle School, Independence Ohio, on Sep 10, 2011. Event includes exhibition, shopping, food fest, competition and an evening Dan Nainan comedy show

The second annual North-East Ohio India Festival USA "Celebrating Health and Wellness 2011" will be held at Independence Middle School, Independence Ohio, on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Through one day of togetherness, India Festival USA encourages visitors to participate in a thematic display of the rich culture and diversity of two of the greatest nations on earth - India and USA. The festival runs from 12 noon to 8pm.

The event segments for this year will spotlight healthy living and recognize outstanding contributions in health science and technology. An exhibition area will feature vendors who will display ethnic merchandise, provide yoga lessons and feature products related to healthy eating, lifestyle and recreation. Area non-profit organizations will share with the attendees their wonderful work in healthcare and green initiatives. Other attractions include "Taste of India" Food Fest, "You've Got Talent" competition (with over 100 contestants), and children and adult activities in the exhibition area.

Admission to the exhibition and food fest is FREE. The evening award show is a ticketed event. Visitors to the India Festival USA will get a chance to participate in free raffles and win gifts. All evening show attendees will be entered in a lucky draw for a prize worth $5000 in value.

The evening program will feature an award ceremony and Dan Nainan - the celebrated Indian-Japanese comedian. Dr. Michael Roizen, Chief Wellness Officer, Cleveland Clinic will be among the recipients of several awards to be presented in the award ceremony. The event will be attended by State Senators Nina Turner and Tom Patton,State Representatives Marlene Anielski and Jay Goyal, Independence Mayor Gregory Kurtz, and other community leaders. Harry Boomer, Television Anchor and Reporter at Channel 19 Action News will be the MC of the Evening Award Ceremony.
