Cleanliness Awards Recognizes Achivments And Contribution From the Cleanliness

Clean India felicitated and applauded the winners nominated from the various categories from the cleanliness sector.

Virtual Info Systems Pvt Ltd (VIS), an established organizer of specialized trade shows and publisher of industry specific premium journals, hosted the much awaited Clean India Awards (CIA) on Dec 6th 2013. The independent jury along-with the organizers, felicitated and applauded the winners nominated from the various categories from the cleanliness sector.

"Over the last two decades India has surged ahead of many developing countries. It is in the forefront for progress—economic, industrial, and technological and capacity building. However, when it comes to cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation, India and Indians are yet to receive international recognition. In order to get there, efforts have to come individually, collectively and through private and public initiatives", said Ms. Mangala Chandran, Senior member at Virtual Info Systems Pvt. Ltd.

"The awards platform is our attempt to bring forth the importance of innovations and effectiveness in cleaning practices to keep our country clean. It also represents the growing awareness in our country for professional cleaning and need for healthier built and external environment", added Ms. Chandran.

Awards were presented to the Best Room Attendant and even the Best Janitor of organizations and Technical awards were presented for the best cleaning equipment, cleaning tools, cleaning chemicals, hygiene solutions and the best product launch. Besides this, the awards also encompassed recognitions for work done in civic establishments like Best Maintained Civic Hospital, Best Maintained Community Toilet Block and also a Well Maintained Institute.

"A decade ago this sector was not only unorganized but also there was little awareness of the importance of hygiene, sanitation and overall cleanliness in our society. Facts like lack of hygiene could adversely affect health of individuals and in some cases eventually lead to death was severely undermined. To educate the masses and to inculcate in them the need of conditioning minds to acknowledge this as a very essential part of our lives, Clean India has made dedicated efforts in this direction. Clean India Awards is a token of appreciation for those who contribute towards this effort", concluded Ms. Chandran.
