CEE Welcomes Members of Congress and Celebrates the Center's Programs & Alumni

CEE Features USA Biology Olympiad (USABO) Two-Time Gold Medalist and Research Science Institute (RSI) AAAS Science & Technology Fellow

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE), with sponsorship from Capital One Bank, will host its Annual Congressional Luncheon Thursday, May 1st, in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room SD-106, in Washington, D.C. Members of Congress traditionally provide remarks at the event.

Research Science Institute (RSI) 1998 Alumna, Dr. Nancy Hsia Akerman, AAAS Science & Technology Fellow, Stratospheric Protection, Division Environmental Protection Agency, will provide remarks about her professional achievements since attending RSI and will provide highlights of her fellowship.

USA Biology Olympiad (USABO) Alum and two-time Gold Medalist at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2012 and 2013, Nikhil Buduma, will provide highlights of his USABO and IBO journey and how it made a significant impact on his educational path to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The luncheon celebrates the success of the Center's Research Science Institute (RSI) offered in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), collaboratively sponsored with Purdue University, and the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP).

"The Center's amazing alumni and their significant contributions to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) initiatives are helping to assure future U.S. leadership in the global community," said Joann P. DiGennaro, President of CEE.
