As of February 01, 2014 Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County will have relocated their services in Midland to 845 King Street. The organization will continue to provide professional counselling services from the new space conveniently located inside the CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre. Catholic Family Services is open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation or financial status, living or working in Simcoe County. Counselling is provided on a sliding fee scale based on household income and family size; with subsidies available for those who qualify.

Catholic Family Services is a Catholic sponsored non-profit organization deeply rooted in Midland and Penetanguishene. The agency was formed in 2008 through the partnership of two founding agencies: Catholic Family Life Centre-Simcoe South and the North Simcoe Catholic Family Life Centre. The former North Simcoe Catholic Family Life Centre has a history in Midland dating back to the 1970's. Thanks to the generosity of donors the Centre was able to purchase property in Midland to support the growing demand for services.

The organization has experienced rapid growth at their head office in Barrie and other satellite locations. However, over the past five years the requests for services in Midland has declined, making it difficult to justify the financial investment needed to run the current facility.

The Board of Directors of Catholic Family Services has decided to sell the Midland property. All proceeds from the sale will remain in North Simcoe and will be used to continue providing professional counselling services offered in the Midland and Pentaguishene communities.

Wanda Rae, Executive Director of Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County, noted that the organization "will continue to provide the same professional counselling services to Midland and Penetanguishene out of the new location. Earlier in January we launched our first collaborative Walk-In Counselling Clinic at the CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre and we will transition the rest of our services by the end of the month."

As of February 01, 2014 all professional counselling services will be provided at the new location including: Individual, Couple and Family Counselling services and The Men's Group. Clients are encouraged to contact the Catholic Family Services head office in Barrie at (705) 726.2503 for more information.
