Cat's Cradle Time Yarns is the latest multi-author short story anthology in the Time Yarns Universe. It was published Jan. 1, 2013 to great reviews.

Cat's Cradle Time Yarns includes the short stories Night Prowlers by Tony Thorne MBE, Locard's Tale by Candy Korman, Tomcat's True Story by Lara Biyuts, The Sleepy Cat's Treasure Hunt by Donnie Nelson, Punky by Monica Brinkman, The 13th Time by Carol Sumilas Boshears, and Long Time I Hunt by Erin Lale. Art Contents include The Medium by Susannah MacDonald, an oil painting of a drood weg (road of the dead) and the cover art, which is based on a photo.

The cat on the cover is Beni-Wan Cat-Obi. He was the dream cat of Time Yarns Universe originator and anthology editor Erin Lale, who found him through a Bengal Cat breed rescue website and adopted him from 9th Life Hawaii. Since the Bengal breed is illegal in Hawaii, the no-kill shelter flew Beni to the mainland to be adopted in Nevada, where his breed is legal. He had been a wharf cat in Maui before being rescued. His age was unknown, but lived in Nevada for 3 years. He died of lung cancer while this anthology was being edited. Erin dedicates this anthology to his memory and to the continuing plight of Bengal Cats picked up by shelters in states where the breed cannot be adopted locally, and to other cats and dogs affected by breed bans.

Time Yarns is a transmedia publishing imprint, and also a shared world. It is a different kind of shared world, since the stories share the way physics and magic work rather than the same characters, settings, and so forth. Lale says, "I set out to create the Time Yarns Universe as a shared world because I like the way that kind of collaboration results in a rich shared experience." The characters, objects, and so forth in Lale's Time Yarns stories are available for other authors and creators to use in their works, but Lale is careful to note that the authors and artists whose works are published in a Time Yarns anthology retain all rights to their own works.

The first Amazon review of Cat's Cradle Time Yarns is by Rebecca Vigus. She said, "Cat's Cradle Time Yarns was not at all what I expected it to be. I am not a cat lover so was skeptical about reading it. It was one of the most delightful reads I've had in a long time. I learned a lot about cats; their habits and history. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a short story anthology. It would be well worth the read. The authors crafted their stories well. I know I was charmed."
