March 12, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Volvo's Vision for the Future of Automobiles
Volvo has put together a revolutionary blend of green technology for a car that could save the planet, while also saving your pocketbook. Saving the planet doesn't have to also destroy our need for the increased mobility of automobiles. Bio-Diesel fuel has a much smaller carbon footprint than regular gasoline, and can be produced through renewable sources. Any diesel engine can run on bio-diesel without any alteration. Combining that green technology with the fuel-efficiency of hybrid engines, and a plug-in electric battery just makes ecological and economic sense! Volvo's latest V60 Plug-In Hybrid will revolutionize driving! Imagine a 32-mile electric range, with the green-tech and torque of a diesel engine with hybrid technology.
This is the future of automobiles. As gas prices continue to soar, hybrids and bio-diesel engines only make more sense. Volvo's visionary automobile, unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, has the potential to save the planet, while also saving our pocketbooks.

Why Green Technology Matters
The single greatest source of pollution in the world doesn't come from big industries. It comes from driveways and highways all across the world. Every time we turn the key, our automobiles are spewing toxic Carbon Monoxide into the atmosphere, and pushing our planet closer and close to a tipping point, where drastic environmental change cannot be stopped.
If everyone stopped driving their cars today, that wouldn't solve all the problems in the world, because people still need to put food on their table and fire engines still need to get to fires. The solution isn't to cut people off from their cars. The solution is to find ways to drastically reduce the impact of automobiles on global warming.
Volvo gets it. It seems like a no-brainer to combine all the latest green innovations in automobiles into one car: a plug-in battery pack with a range of 32 miles, a hybrid engine that helps to fuel that electric battery, and the clean-burning diesel engine that can run on bio-fuels. This car, the V60 Plug-In Hybrid might be most important car on the planet, right now. Most drivers could get to work and back on just the electric battery. It's easier, and cleaner, to get energy from the electric grid than from an individual engine. Large power plants are not only more efficient, but they are easier to regulate for emissions. Also, our electrical grid can easily be converted away from coal-burning and oil-burning towards technologies that do not contribute to global warming, like nuclear power, solar power, and wind energy.
When you look at your car, do you see the future of driving technology? I certainly don't. No matter how fuel-efficient my car is, I know that every time I turn the key, I'm slowly destroying the world in which I live. I applaud Volvo for embracing green technology and giving consumers the opportunity to buy three green cars in one: 1) an electric car, 2) a hybrid car, 3) and a clean-burning diesel engine.
I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one of a Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid!
